Sugar

Famously, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. But sugar is not just a sweetener. It also acts as a preservative, texture modifier, flavoring and coloring agent, fermentation substrate and bulking agent in a host of food technology applications.

We operate in 14 countries worldwide, with an extensive origination and destination network backed by excellent market intelligence and research capabilities.

As well as raw and refined sugar, we now offer a wide variety of sweetener solutions for a huge range of manufacturing and consumption purposes.

Soy

GMO & NON GMO

Soybean seeds are harvested from mature pods of the soybean plant which belongs to the family Fabacee. Though it is a species of legumes, the crop is classified as an oil seed because of its high oil content. Soybean is also known as a good source of low-cost protein.

Product is organically produced and processed according to current Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP norms and regulations NPOP, NOP & EEC 834/2007.

  • SHELF-LEFT: 24 month, under proper storage conditions
  • SUPER-CLEANED: All of our bulk soybeans are triple-cleaned to ensure purity and protect your grain mill from any foreign objects. (Soybeans that aren’t sufficiently cleaned may contain small stones that will damage or destroy a grain mill… not to mention that you don’t want such things in your food!)
  • NON-GMO: We guarantee the supply of whole food products which are natural (non-GMO). Also, We do not sell any grains, beans, lentils, pulses or seeds sourced from China.

Grains

GMO & NON GMO

    Quality Control

Ikumsa SL with the cooperation of the sugar refinaries maintains a state of the art laboratory staffed with qualified, experienced team to ensure the quality and safety of its products, from production to final product. To ensure the quality of final product and input materials the following analyses are carried out according to ICUMSA (International Commission of Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis):

    1 - Polarisation

This test is used to determine the content of pure sucrose in received, processed and produced sugar.

    2 - Moisture

The moisture test is one of the most important for white refined sugar to ensure the safety of the product.

    3 - Conductivity Ash

Conductivity ash has individual significance during different manufacturing stages and in final product. It is a quick method to know the ionic (undissolved) impurities in sugar solution.

    4 - Colour

This test is used to determine the colour of received, processed and produced sugar to ensure the quality of our refined sugar. To perform this measurement we use UV/Vis photometer device accompanied with ICUMSA standard test method.

    5 - Turbidity

Turbidity is the cloudiness or haziness of a fluid caused by individual particles (suspended solids) that are generally invisible to the naked eye, similar to smoke in air. The measurement of turbidity is a key test for many food and beverage industries like sugar.

    6 - Invert Sugar

Invert sugar is mixture of glucose and fructose formed by splitting sucrose into its two components.
